Ubisoft has unveiled Ubisoft Connect, its new "ecosystem" that'll run through all of its upcoming games. Billed as the "unification" of services such as Ubisoft Club, Uplay, and the publisher's loyalty program, it's an attempt to bring everything together under one brand. In the long run, this change probably won't have much of an impact on how you play your Ubisoft games, but we can appreciate the more straightforward approach that the publisher appears to be taking.
So Ubisoft Connect will feature in all of the company's upcoming software — but what about its old games? Well, it'll still track things like stats and leaderboards, but you won't be able to make use of the service's "challenge system" in order to unlock in-game items. Fortunately, to make up for this, Ubisoft has decided to simply give all of these rewards away so that no one misses out. The next time you boot up an already released Ubisoft title, all of those old Uplay or Ubisoft Club rewards should be unlocked.
Anyway, you can read the full and official FAQ through this link. Did you ever make much use of things like Uplay or Ubisoft Club? Connect in the comments section below.

Man I hate Uplay....
Oooh does it have a new HR system?
Nobody will miss UPlay or Uplay+
Those club rewards are fantastic, really hope they aren't getting rid of those on new games. I've always enjoyed what Ubisoft does with Ubisoft Club and wished more companies did stuff like it.
Only experienced Uplay through PS4, thought the extra stuff you earn is kinda neat.
It's a French company, so they could have called it "Ubichiotte" (Ubicrapper for those who don't know the language of love).
I enjoyed getting the Uplay rewards. Point earned in a previous game could even give you a headstart in a new game.
Never have tried this Ubi "ecosystem," nor have I ever tried the EA "ecosystem." But this certainly intrigues me from the standpoint of if, and when, more third party publishers will do these "ecosystem" type maneuvers. I can name a few publishers that have the history, catalog, and name recognition, to intent and make an "ecosystem" of their own. The future of gaming is going to be intriguing.
Just deleted several games off of UPlay on my PC yesterday as they were taking up 116GB of my 1TB HDD which was over 900GB full. I hav e anew smaller 256GB SSD coming tomorrow so I'm still tryin g to figure out how to get that 800GB down under 250GB to do the clone. I figured by 2020 MS woudl have an easy way to migrate OS to a new HDD but no.
Guess I'll just uninstall UPlay entirely and wait to install UConnect on the new drive. Well the old drive that I'm planning on formatting as D:/ after. That's like my next 4 days. At least Steam has some code to help the process along, another 118GB in Steam games to delete and reinstall too.
This is why I'm a console gamer, PC is my son's. He's software good, but not reconfiguration good.
Brilliant that they’re just giving away the rewards, you get some great stuff from those!
As someone playing AC Origins... if this means I get all the outfits and legendary weapons for free... yes, please!
Aren't PS3 and 360 uplay titles already locked out of those rewards?. Do those unlocks only count for PS4/Xbone games, or is that everything?
Edit: I checked. It unlocks everything. Legacy and current gen.
@MFTWrecks It'll just be the items that were tied to Uplay, not all the stuff that you can spend money on. Still pretty good, though!
I always buy the rewards I want when I get a new Ubisoft game as the credits expire now.
Good riddance, no one it’s gonna miss Uplay and good for the freebie rewards
The Ubi Club system is pretty great tbf and the rewards are pretty good, im glad they are simplifying their services, and pretty cool they are just unlocking all the older rewards for free. I hope they can sort their HR stuff out and they come back refreshed and empowered in 2021.
I play a lot of their games so I'm sure I have a bunch of points stashed. Cross progression is a God send. May even compel me to buy certain games twice. Hope others follow suit!
@HotGoomba what’s wrong with Uplay+!?! I’m sure you enjoy playing their games from time to time.. saves a TON considering gold/ultimate edition prices
@2cents Ubisoft games go on sale 2 seconds after release, you're not saving much money, in fact, you could be losing money. And $15 a month for games that'll cost $20 after a year on sale isn't worth it in my opinion.
It's not even like it has to many benefits! Compare it to something like Xbox Game Pass or Playstation Now, those services are cheaper, has Ubisoft games as well, and has benefits that are actually worth it. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has 200+ Games, Xbox Live Gold, The ability to play on Console, Phone, or PC, Include EA Play which at its own has plenty of titles, a better variety of titles, its own Ubisoft title, Plenty of indie games, and soon, Bethesda Games. For $15 a month.
With UPlay+, there are no benefits other than lots of Ubisoft titles, but if you're getting UPlay+ just for a couple of franchises like Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy, you'll end up paying more for UPlay+ than if you just bought a couple of games or waiting for sales of said games.
@HotGoomba I appreciate your take but with 3 HUGE nex-gen releases coming up I’d say my $15 a month was well spent, life’s too short waiting for sales!
@2cents Ok, touché, but I still personally think that it's the greatest deal.
@Rudy_Manchego underrated comment here. More likes for this guy please.
Glad they gave you the rewards without the need to do the challenges, some of them were a pain to do.
@hi_drnick Ah thank you!
Not happened yet I'm playing The Division 2 on pc and still using the same old Uplay and club rewards are still locked. Better not screw up my save think I'll find it on my pc and back it up tonight to make sure. It's on there cloud but I don't trust it
